NSW: Rivers still rising after heavy rain in the state's centre
The threat of storms across New South Wales has passed .. but the impact of yesterday's
heavy rain continues to concern emergency service crews.
At the central New South Wales town of Coonamble .. 171mm of rain has fallen in 24 hours.
SES spokesman PHIL CAMPBELL says rivers in the area have already started to rise and
may not reach their peak until tomorrow.
Some Riverina properties have been sand bagged to protect them from rising waters ..
which Mr CAMPBELL says will force the closure of more roads in the next day.
Heavy rain in far-west New South Wales last night halted the Indian Pacific train.
