Allot and Nokia Siemens Networks Join Forces to Enable Russian Operator to Deploy Revenue Generating Services

Allot Communications, a supplier of service optimization andrevenue generation solutions for fixed and mobile broadband serviceproviders worldwide, announced that a Russian fixed and mobileoperator with over 25 million subscribers has deployed Allot ServiceGateway Sigma (SG-Sigma) platforms to offer revenue-generatingparental control and anti-virus services to its subscribers.

According to a May 27 release, Nokia Siemens Networks acted asprime integrator on this joint project, which is the first major winto result from the strategic partnership between the companies. Thesolution has been initially deployed in two key hubs within theoperator's network.

SG-Sigma acts as a nexus point in the operator's network,accurately identifying traffic in real time at high speeds, andenabling intelligent policy-based steering of subscriber traffic tothese value added services. The solution identifies those customerswho have subscribed to the service and steers only their traffic tothe relevant VAS platform, allowing optimized deployment of VASinfrastructure. The centralization of network intelligence andservice deployment in SG-Sigma enables the operator to activatethese services, accelerate time-to-revenue and increase ARPU.
