I don't know about you, but I could use a little inspiration amidst the endless string of reports on the current state of the economy. The subject was certainly prevalent at the recent International Artexpo New York, however, unlike the thralls of media reports that tend to dwell on the negatives, the art professionals I spoke with at the show were focusing on anything but. Yes, they acknowledged the downturn and the challenges it brings, but more importantly, they collaboratively discussed proactive solutions to the problems they faced and demonstrated a level of passion and perseverance that was truly inspiring.
Inspiration is really what the art world is all about. …
