Fed: Govt denies regional development cuts
CANBERRA, Feb 8 AAP - Regional Australia had not suffered cuts in Commonwealth development
funding, Regional Services Minister Ian Macdonald said today.
"As a result of our management, Australia's doing well," Senator Macdonald told a Senate
hearing today.
Labor challenged Senator Macdonald on his Government's performance in the bush, questioning
whether he was aware of any cuts to regional development funding.
"Not in the time that I have been minister ... (but) we are not going to go back and
detail what happened 10 years ago or five years ago …
