Wise names two to head economic development plan

Gov. Bob Wise today named Mike Basile and Kenny Perdue to head theeffort to implement "A Vision Shared," the economic developmentaction plan adopted 15 months ago by the West Virginia Council forCommunity and Economic Development.

Basile is a lawyer at the Charleston firm Spilman, Thomas &Battle. He is a former associate general counsel and deputy chief ofstaff for then-Gov. Gaston Caperton.

Perdue is the secretary-treasurer of the West Virginia AFL-CIO. Heis a second-generation union sheet metal worker. He previously servedas a business representative for his local union.
